Personal Experience

John Caine is a business lawyer with more than 25 years’ experience as in-house counsel, transactional attorney and business consultant in the growth and operation of diverse private enterprises and in the planning, finance and development of infrastructure, technology and real estate projects. His practice focuses on acquisition, disposition, development and financing of senior living facilities and other diverse commercial real estate projects.

Prior to joining Tatusko Kennedy, PC, in 2012, John served in management and in-house counsel roles for a privately-held commercial real estate investment, development and property management company, headquartered in Northern Virginia, and as chief legal officer for a Toronto-based advertising services and technology start-up venture operating throughout the U.S. and Europe. Since 2002, John has served in an of-counsel capacity to a privately-held toll highway enterprise, with responsibility for diverse transactional, regulatory and operational matters.

John first practiced law with the Shaw Pittman LLP, now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, and later joined Wayne Tatusko in the real estate group Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald, L.L.P. Before law school, John worked as a real estate consultant with the Washington, D.C.-based Arthur Andersen Real Estate Services Group, where he was responsible for analysis and presentation of investment, financing and project development opportunities for public- and private-sector clients.
